About me
I am an impressionistic landscape painter from Thunder Bay, Ontario. I was fortunate to grow up in a family who fully embraced and encouraged creativity in many forms. I can remember spending countless hours of my childhood both creating and also watching my dad, an artist, draw, design and paint. I graduated in 2004 from Lakehead University with a degree in Visual Arts as well as a BEd. The next two decades were spent raising three energetic kids (alongside my amazing husband Scott), teaching, and adventuring in this wild and glorious area of Northwestern Ontario. In 2024, with encouragement from many friends and family members, I made a decision to make more room in my life for art.
Through the seasons, you will often find me skiing through snow-laden trees, kayaking on the river, canoeing the lakes of Quetico with my family, hiking in the Nor’wester Mountains, and picking wild blueberries on the rocky Canadian Shield. I find joy in being able to recreate these moments and scenes on canvas, capturing the mood of the day with a colourful palette. Thank you for following me on this journey!
